A comic book (often shortened to simply comic and sometimes called a funny book, comic paper or comic magazine) is a magazine made up of narrative artwork in the form of separate "panels" that represent individual scenes, often accompanied by dialog (usually in word balloons, emblematic of the comic book art form) as well as including brief descriptive prose. The first comic book appeared in the United States of America in 1934, reprinting the earlier newspaper comic strips, which established many of the story-telling devices used in comics. The term "comic book" arose because the first comic books reprinted humor comic strips, but despite their name, comic books do not necessarily operate in humorous mode; most modern comic books tell stories in a variety of genres. The Japanese and European comic book markets demonstrate this clearly. In the United States the super-hero genre dominates the market, even though other genres also exist. From Wikipedia under the

Honestly, you don't. This is going to look pretty lame and like a bachelor pad. Do you have another room, maybe an office, game room, or den, where you could put them up? Answered by froggie - Wed Dec 5 21:33:09 2007 Would you like to share your experience with comic books? Q. I'm writing a book on the effect of comic books on the lives of Americans, and I'd love to hear your story. Asked by rachelsanders2 - Mon Jun 16 20:54:19 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Me: I grew up with Superman and Batman. I read them and traded them with friends until they fell apart. My hubby: Didn't discover the love of reading until he found comics. He read them and lovingly kept them to read again and again. Together: We owned and operated a comic shop in a small town for twelve years. We made lots of friends and had a good time, but didn't make enough money to live on. Now we are both very avid readers of all types of books - comics included! Answered by Narnia33 - Mon Jun 16 21:16:19 2008 Name your examples of comic books which you found the storyline to be awful but you really enjoyed the artwork?
Q. I am currently reading the Image version of the Batman/Spawn team-up which inspired me to ask this question. The story by Frank Miller was atrocious but the artwork by Todd McFarlane was beautiful and great layouts and centerfolds of Batman and Spawn together. That is my example. What are yours? Name your comic books which you found the storyline to be awful but you thought the comic book art was superb? Asked by Crl - Mon Mar 1 19:47:33 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. You'd probably enjoy 'All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder' as well. Again, written by Frank Miller but the illustrations done by Jim Lee and Scott Williams are breathtaking.
