COMiC BOOKS!!!?
Q. First,in the current spider-girl comic, whats the deal with the guy dressing as spider-man but looks like dr. strange? Second, in the current ultimate x-men, how is charles x able to walk? Last, in the current kyle ryner green lantern book tittled ION, whats the story behind that?

A. I dont have an answer to the spider girl or ION questions, as I do not read them. I havent read any of the Ultimate titles for awhile, but I do not enough about it to give you an answer. The Ultimates line of comics is an alternate universe created to exist outside the normal Marvelverse. Just about everything in it is different, about the only similarities are they both have a number of the same super heroe and villian names, and sometimes the same (or similar costumes), and often the same character playing the super hero or villian. Look at the Ultimate Captain America- he was remade in a costume like that of the 1940s World War II Captain America. However, a lot of the things that happened in the Marvelverse that made the characters… [cont.]

How many comic books were in the box?
Q. Tayla purchased a large box of comic books for $300. She gave 15 of the comic books to her brother and then sold the rest on an internet website for $330, making a profit of $1.50 on each one. How many comic books were in the box? What was the original price of each comic book?
Asked by devan s - Fri Oct 23 18:00:50 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Let x denote the number of comic books in the box. Her cost per magazine was 300/x. If she gave 15 to her brother, then she sold (x-15) magazines on the internet site. The price she got per magazine was 330/(x-15). This was $1.50 more than her cost per magazine. So 330/(x-15) - 300/x = 1.5 Multiply both sides by x(x-15): 330x - 300(x-15)) = 1.5x(x-15) 330x - 300x + 4500 = 1.5x - 22.5x 30x + 4500 = 1.5x - 22.5x Divide both sides by 1.5 (I like integers) 20x + 3000 = x - 15x 0 = x - 35x - 3000 Using the quadratic formula, x = [35 (1225 + 12000)]/2 x = 75 or x = -40 We must reject the negative solution of course. The original price of the comic books, per book, was $300/75 = $4

What's the best site to sell comic books online?
Q. I am trying to sell many of the comic books that I have online. I tried ebay but I didn't get many bids for them. Is there any site that specializes in selling comic books online? Thanks.
Asked by Tyrone P - Sun Mar 23 12:23:23 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It's possible you didn't get many bids because your comics aren't that rare or valuable, or you didn't provide the information people look for when they buy comics from eBay, or perhaps you had a starting/reserve price that was unrealistic. eBay really is the standard way to go. You can also try craigslist so you can find interested buyers in your area who can pick the books up and hand you cash, that way you don't have to deal with shipping or online money transfers. Or take them to your local comic book store. Unless your comics are from before 1975, any other method of selling is rarely worth all the trouble

A. you could take them to a store that sells this type of merchandise - comic books and baseball cards .. some of them have coins as well... they will buy them outright or will take a percentage of the selling price (like consignment) or you could try on ebay if the merchandise is in good shape

Can anyone list the comic books issues that prove Angela and Spawn's romantic relationship?
Q. I've read a few comic books from the Spawn universe, and have always been intrigued by the titular character's (al Simmons) relationship with Angela. I've read on wikipedia that the two had a romantic relationship before she was killed in Spawn #100. Can anyone list and enumerate the comic book series and issues that show this relationship? Actually, it would be great if anyone could list all her appearances, in all series. Thanks.

How should I sell my old comic books?
Q. I have 4 large boxes of comic books from the 1990s that I want to sell. How can I get the most value out of them? Should I sell them on eBay, to a comic store, or post an ad online or in the paper? Should I sell them individually, or in groups? Are the values listed in those comic book value guides accurate?
Asked by K - Thu Dec 18 17:54:45 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Ebay if you only have a few If you have hundreds you should set up at comic book Show. You can get the times and addresses off the inter net My guess is that you probably have between $200.00 and $400 worth of comics (250 to a box) unless there are some special editions. Sold in bulk you can get between .20 to.30 cents each. The smaller the lots you sell the more you can get out of each. Individually some of them could bring more than the list price. Without knowing what books you have, and their condition all of the above is only random thinking or BS

A. I'd check eBay for an actual price you can expect to see from these. A price guide for such things will tell you what the items are supposedly worth, but to get an idea of how much they'll *sell for* in today's market, search eBay for recently closed auctions.

Does the effort of buying comic books on a monthly basis put you off from buying them?
Q. Comic Books, the periodical or magazine variety, are published on a frequent basis ranging from weekly to quarterly. Whole stories usually require buying multiple issues. The whole story can be later collected up in to graphic novels (also referred to as trade paperbacks). Monthly comic books generally have more ads per capita than the graphic novel. Some retailers require establishing a pull list or even paying for the monthly comics in advance, to ensure getting all the monthly comic books containing a story.
Asked by tazwert - Fri Nov 30 00:07:31 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Not really. Every month my store has a list of upcoming titles. I check off the ones I want and they get pulled for me, so all I have to do is go to the store and pick them up every week. Since the comic book store is in the same area as a lot of shopping, I just run my errands that evening and get everything done while I'm out. What drives me nuts is waiting to see how the cliffhanger ends. That and sometimes titles slip, so I have to wait more than a month for the next issue.

A. Me: I grew up with Superman and Batman. I read them and traded them with friends until they fell apart. My hubby: Didn't discover the love of reading until he found comics. He read them and lovingly kept them to read again and again. Together: We owned and operated a comic shop in a small town for twelve years. We made lots of friends and had a good time, but didn't make enough money to live on. Now we are both very avid readers of all types of books - comics included!

A. Depending on what type of comic books you have (some characters and books are worth more than others), how old they are and the condition, you might get a decent price. Either check on-line at any site that deals with collectibles like baseball cards, comic books, etc., or try to find the Comic Book Buyer's Guide. It lists the values and pricing of comic books.

A. i started really getting into comics around 1982... puts me at 9 years old then. i remember becuase my parents had a birthday party for me and i got Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle for the Colecovision, along with other games, of course Star Wars stuff, and a bunch of comics to distribute to my friends. Well, the party was a bust due to a typical Chicago Winter in January and not many of my friends showed. lame. but at least i got to keep most of my comics! i collected X-Men religiously, along with Amazing Spider-Man and the Peter Parker line. kept going on through until 8th grade. i'd remebered the X-Men fondly, as well as the epic of the era- Secret Wars. so when i'd heard about the Marvel Civil War, i had to check things out. this… [cont.]

Q. I'm 20 and I really like comic books but I only got into them when I was about 17/18 which is when most people stop, I feel like I missed out on a lot of years when I could have been reading them and wish I'd got into them earlier as they are awesome. When did you start reading them?

Should people read comic books rather than watching television?
Q. Bec cartoons on televisions are limited in numbers of every different shows in every same titles as won't make anymore. Also, some titles of cartoons stop playing on tvs anymore. But comic books about them forever make more different subjects of every same titles and also forever make more every same titles. plus also, this is the same things for real-life movies, not cartoons, in tvs vs. comic books.
