A. Not a graphic novel per se, but there was an issue of Detective (just before Crisis on Infinite Earths, I believe) where the Batman of Earth 2 is affected by gas from the Scarecrow, to be unable to see or hear his closest friends. He discovers he fears being left all alone, as he was when his parents died. Unable to get any friends to help track down the Scarecrow, he recruits the Catwoman. She helps him. At one point, she is astonished at the large number of scars he has on his body (he must remove his shirt so she can bandage his injuries) and he says, "Oh, that. Occupational hazard. Fifteen years of fighting crime will do that to you." She gains a respect for him she never had before. They are on the verge of capturing the Scarecrow… [cont.]

Where should I sell my collection of Naruto graphic novels and how much are they worth?
Q. I've accumulated many volumes of Naruto graphic novels, along with other manga throughout the years, and have basically outgrown them. I've donated most of the others to local libraries, but every one of them already has a Naruto collection. I have volumes 1 through 33, (which, unfortunately, is not the entire series) all of which have been handled gently. If they are worth anything at all, how much could I sell them for? Where would be the best place to sell them?

A. eBay is always a good place to auction off things you no longer need or want for money. you can also try a local used bookstore or Half Price Books. Although used bookstores typically doesn't pay very much. I've heard that Half Price Books only pay like $1 per manga which doesn't seem worth it but you could always try and if they don't give you a fair offer then just decline. Craigslist.com is another good option so that you can deal locally and with cash. I would say that used manga are worth $4 each since that is how much you can buy them for used at bookstores. Hope that helps!

A. Initially place them in the sunlight to "bake" away any of the mildew. the harder part is going to be the smell that might linger. That may require a kind of fumigation

Do you think comic books/graphic novels are looked down upon?
Q. I love reading comics, graphic novels especially. I know a good number of people at school that read books or poetry, but whenever I try to recommend a graphic novel, lets say, Watchmen for example, they automatically dub it as dumb because it's a comic book. I just don't get this. Why do some people tend to think ALL comics are only about superheroes beating up bad guys? They're not. Has anyone else dealt with this before?
Asked by I - Fri Aug 15 23:59:03 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I know what you mean and I think that the problem is that people think that comics are just for little kids, before I really started getting into them I know that I did. And it's really a shame that people jump to this conclusion because like you said they automaticlly think that a masterpiece like watchmen is just not worth their time and they are really missing out on alot.

What are some good comic books or graphic novels to get?
Q. I am a little out of the loop of comic books but want to get back in. I have just got the Watchmen graphic novel thanks to the movie hype but what else should i get? Really interested in stuff that is less obvious and would be nice if it is current. I miss this stuff.

A. If you're just out-of-the-loop, you probably already know about this one and it is obvious, but: The Sandman, by Neil Gaiman. Really good, and has won some awards, too. It's my favorite comic book series. Not really super-hero-ish, though. 1st book: Also seconding V for Vendetta.

In what order do the Joss Whedon Serenity graphic novels read?
Q. I want to buy the 3 Serenity graphic novels, but I am not sure if they are a short series, or if they are all separate. The titles are Serenity, Serenity: Those Left Behind and then there is Serenity:Volume 2 Better Days.
Asked by Amber - Thu Feb 4 10:03:23 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 'Those Left Behind' and 'Better Days' are separate stories. Both were written by Joss Whedon, and both were excellent. 'Serenity: Those Left Behind' bridges the gap between the TV show 'Firefly' and the film 'Serenity.' The three-issue comic was also published in one volume, but there are two editions (one of which is the 'Serenity' trade paperback). 'Serenity: Better Days' is set after the events of 'Firefly,' but before the events of the film. The three-issue comic was also published as a one-volume trade paperback. You can read them in any order, but if you want to stay within the 'verse's continuity, read 'Better Days' first, then 'Those Left Behind.' There was also a one-issue comic, 'Serenity: The Other Half' written by… [cont.]
