I need three main points to help societies in the United States lose weight...such as putting tax on junk foods so not that many people can buy so much, therefore there will become less obese people. Asked by Im Cool - Wed Apr 23 21:15:10 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Where there is a will there is a way. People will go to great lengths to stay obese because they can get Disability/ medicaid, food stamps etc... that is what we have to stop, the Get Out of Jail Free option. People do this to them selves, some are genetically pre-disposed, but ultimately, with their diet and lack of exercise they continue what their family started and pass it on. If the United States has in custody someone who is SURELY a terrorist because of being caught in terrorist activities, how should the US obtain information from them to save innocent lives? Give them a warm bubble bath and hold their hand, or use challenging interrogation techniques? Asked by TruthSquad - Thu Jan 15 19:36:34 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. So, these guys have been convicted or just captured and detained. I always thought that it was ridiculous to suppose that the sergeants would have any idea what the generals were up to. But it has been proven that making nice is quicker and more effective than a rubber hose. And the guy who captured Saddam Hussein wrote the book about it. I'm just too lazy to look up the title. Answered by piegowdealer - Thu Jan 15 19:43:35 2009 How does the United States and or its people practice ethnocentrism?
Q. I need 3 examples of how the united states and or americans practice ethnocentrism...I am having a tough time figuring out what to write about... For anyone who doesn't know..Ethnocentrism is the assumption that one's own culture and way of life is superior to others...like americas ways of doing things is the best way. Asked by Ell1989 - Thu Sep 10 21:44:41 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments A. Ethnocentrism doesn't just mean that you feel that your identity is superior, but you use your view to view other cultures. Example: In South East Asian, most countries eat dogs. To them this is normal and because South East Asia is extremely poor they are accustomed to this. For Americans, we don't need to eat dogs because we have cattle, etc so we view dog eating as culturally unacceptable. We're using our biases to view South East Asia. Other examples could include how we go to war, democracy being better than socialism or communism, gun rights (many Asian countries don't have gun rights), stricter drug laws, and other foods.
